Flau'jae Johnson and the LSU Tigers continued their perfect start to the 2024-25 NCAA season on Monday night, beating the Vanderbilt Commodores 83-77 in their SEC showdown at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Johnson was one of three players to score in double figures for the Tigers, who improved their record to 19-0.
Johnson led the Tigers' offense with 25 points. She shot 10-for-21 from the field, including 1-for-3 from beyond the arc. She was precise at the charity stripe, knocking down all four of his free-throw attempts.
Flau'jae Johnson stuffed the stat sheet against Vanderbilt as she also had five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 38 minutes of action. The junior guard has been a vital cog for LSU this season, leading the team in both scoring and assists. Johnson is averaging 20.0 points and 2.9 dimes through 19 games.

Flau'Jae Johnson gets offensive help from Aneesah Morrow in LSU's win over Vanderbilt
Flau'jae Johnson delivered when the No. 5 LSU Tigers needed her the most, scoring 11 of her 25 points during the fourth quarter. LSU outscored Vanderbilt 25-20 during that final period to secure its fourth win against an SEC team this season.
It wasn't just Johnson who wreaked havoc against the Commodores. Aneesah Morrow scored 23 points on 10-for-19 shooting. It was the sixth time this season that Johnson and Morrow each scored at least 20 points in the same game. Morrow was a workhorse for Kim Mulkey, playing 40 minutes against Vanderbilt.
Morrow also grabbed 15 rebounds to record her 17th double-double of the season. The senior guard achieved that feat in each of the Tigers' last nine games, averaging 20.2 points and 15.7 rebounds during that span. LSU defeated its opponents with an average of 21.4 points during that period.
Morrow made history with her performance against Vanderbilt, becoming the eighth NCAA Division I player to record at least 2,500 points and 1,500 rebounds in college.
Mikaylah Williams also contributed for LSU, scoring 20 points. She shot 8-for-13 from the field, including 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Williams also had five rebounds, five assists and two steals. The Tigers will next face the Florida Gators on Sunday.
