Dawn Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks went undefeated (38-0) last season on their way to win their second national championship in three years. They also clinched back-to-back SEC regular season and tournament titles during this historic run for the program.
Their successful season was capped off with the university unveiling two rings on a Monday night ceremony at Colonial Life Arena. One was for winning the 2024 NCAA national title and another for claiming the SEC title.
The Gamecocks defeated the LSU Tigers in the conference title game and then beat the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA championship game. Each player from last season’s roster was presented with two rings.
South Carolina Gamecocks' national championship ring
The national championship ring represents their three NCAA trophies, each adorned with a rich red stone at the top. Each represents one of South Carolina's national championship titles, in 2017, 2022 and 2024.
The words "NATIONAL CHAMPIONS" encircle the trophies in bold letters, celebrating the team's major accomplishments. One side of the ring displays the words "PERFECT SEASON," highlighted in gold across the top of the ring, celebrating the team's undefeated 38-0 record.
At the center, the team's 2024 national championship logo is displayed with the number 38 on the left and the number 0 on the right, symbolizing their undefeated record. The background of the ring has a luxe gold tone with a pattern that resembles a basketball net.
On the opposite side, the school name "SOUTH CAROLINA" is written at the top. Below it, each recipient's name appears above the 2024 Final Four logo, along with their jersey number or title.
The ring's inside features an engraving of the scores of the Gamecocks' two Final Four games, listed alongside the logos of the teams they played. It is adorned with captivating white stones that decorate every open surface.
The ring's top can be removed and turned into a pendant that fits onto a chain. Once removed, the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse basketball court is revealed.
Moreover, the back of the pendant has the word "LOVE," along with a Gamecock symbol. This design was created by Dawn Staley as a tribute to the famous "LOVE" sculpture in John F. Kennedy Plaza, Philadelphia.
South Carolina Gamecocks' SEC title ring
The SEC championship ring is elaborately designed and adorned with numerous small white stones, giving it a sparkling appearance.
At the heart of the ring is a large "C" logo — the symbol of the Unversity of South Carolina — featuring the university’s Gamecock mascot.
