Hanna Cavinder is all ready for the upcoming college basketball season when she makes a return to the court again. She played three years with Fresno State and spent her senior season in Miami. The guard took the year off after the 2022-23 season to focus on other ventures, but is now back.
Hanna Cavinder shared pictures from her Media Day photoshoot on Wednesday and wrote in the caption:
"T1s the 5zn 🧚♂️
In July, Hanna Cavinder went public with her relationship with Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck. She got the approval of the quarterback's mother and sister. Beck's sister Kylie, a cheerleader for the Bulldogs, commented:
"Holy WOW. QUEEN."
Mother Tracy expressed her emotions with emojis as she added a red heart and a smiling face with hearts.
This is not the first time Cavinder has gotten approval from Carson Beck's family, as his mother and sister are consistent in sharing their comments on her posts.
Hanna Cavinder credits her twin, Haley, for the return to college basketball
Hanna Cavinder endured one of her worst seasons during her senior year at Miami as her performance dropped dramatically. She went from averaging 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists at Fresno State to 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assist with the Hurricanes.
She explained her decision in an interview with The New York Post, where she credited her twin, Haley Cavinder, for her return.
"When I made the decision to stop playing, I was excited to get more involved in the businesses and brands we are part of," Hanna said. "But watching Haley train and get ready for the season made me realize that I wasn't ready to stop playing."
"I love basketball and I know I won't be able to play it forever. Being with my sister is the perfect way to finish out my career."
Meanwhile, Haley had previously committed to TCU in November 2023 for her fifth season. However, with Hanna's decision to come to Miami, Haley also followed in recommitting.
"We both feel like we have more to give," Haley said. "We want to end our college basketball careers on a high note, and we wanted to do it together. We both knew we had unfinished business on the court and wanted to give it one more shot, together."
The last time the Cavinder twins played in Miami, they led the team on a historic maiden Elite Eight run. Hurricanes fans and new coach Tricia Cullop are hoping for a similar run in the 2024-25 season.
