UConn Huskies women's basketball star Paige Bueckers has been showcasing her support for her country during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Apart from cheering on the men's and women's basketball teams, Bueckers has also been following gymnastics in the Olympics.
In a recent Instagram story, Paige Bueckers shared the success of Team USA in gymnastics where veteran Olympian Simone Biles took home the champion's medal despite battling an injury during the Olympics.
Not only this, but all three rank holders of the sport had various health problems, leading to Bueckers appreciating their hard work and dedication to improve in the sport they love.
"Gods timing is never off", Paige Bueckers captioned the post.
During the women's qualification, Simone Biles suffered from a calf injury during her warmups on the floor. After complaining of pain in her left leg, the team doctor quickly attended to her, and she returned to compete with tape around her left leg.
Despite the injury scare, the veteran gymnast defeated her Brazilian rival Rebeca Andrade in the women's individual all-around final. Simone Biles was also a key contributor to Team USA's gold-medal victory in the women's all-around final. She became the most decorated gymnast in the Olympics history.
Paige Bueckers' hilarious cartwheel video resurfaces on social media
While showcasing her support for Team USA's gymnastics journey in the Paris Olympics, the UConn star shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. In the post, she stated that she was "in awe" over the athleticism and flexibility of the gymnasts as she could not even master a simple cartwheel.
"I'm in awe. These ladies are amazing. Goated, all of them! To think I can't even do a cartwheel," Bueckers wrote.
One fan saw this as an opportunity to revive the UConn star's hilarious attempt at a cartwheel during an Instagram live session. One of her friends was left in splits following her attempt while hilariously questioning her form.
While the UConn Huskies guard may not be a great gymnast, her abilities on the basketball court are unquestionable. And she will get her moment to shine as she continues her preparation for the upcoming season with the hopes of becoming a national champion.
