As a freshman, USC Trojans star JuJu Watkins averaged 27.1 points per game and has picked up right where she left off to start her sophomore year. She is posting 28.3 ppg through the Trojans' first nine games.

On Sunday, the guard posted several stills from her Saturday game against the Oregon Ducks on Instagram.

The pictures captured Watkins in several moments—one showing her signing a USC jersey for a young girl and another showing her playing in a game and giving an interview.

"Love what you do!" Watkins captioned the post.

The post gained traction. Current and former teammates react with positive comments.

"Good aura Juski," LA Sparks guard and former USC star McKenzie Forbes wrote.
"Say that," Sparks' Rae Burrell wrote and added a speaking head emoji.

Watkins' teammate Kiki Iriafen also showed her support by simply adding two relieved face emojis.

Similarly, the Trojans' freshman forward Vivian Iwuchukwu shared a series of love emojis in the comment section.

"No one does it like you twin," India Otto, Coordinator of Player Engagement at University of South Carolina, also commented.

JuJu Watkins' surge in popularity and NIL deals

Just a year into college, JuJu Watkins has already established herself as a household name in the women’s basketball world.

Her NIL deals have also started to increase with several big brands partnering with the 19-year-old.

"There’s an excitement for men’s and women’s basketball right now — there’s nothing like USC right now, in terms of the star power and momentum,” USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb said (via NBC Sports). "I call it the JuJu effect."

Watkins inked an NIL deal with State Farm in November and even starred in a TV commercial for the insurance company.

"I was super excited about the partnership, and State Farm is just such a great brand," she said (via Forbes).

Her other NIL partners include Nike, Funko, Gatorade and NYX Professional Makeup, per On3.

Moreover, the Los Angeles native stars in her mini-documentary series, "On the Rise: JuJu Watkins," which airs on Peacock and NBC every Sunday. The show follows her journey through her freshman season in college.

She had a successful first year, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors. Watkins scored 920 points last season, the most ever by a freshman in NCAA history, leading USC to the Elite Eight.
