After a memorable final collegiate campaign, ex-Iowa Hawkeyes star Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall moved on to pursue their own goals in life. Martin got drafted 18th overall by the Las Vegas Aces earlier this year, while Marshall decided to pursue a master's degree.
Despite walking on different paths, the former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates remain close friends and share a tight bond. On Tuesday, Gabbie Marshall posted a few vacation snaps on Instagram. The former Iowa star showed off a blue dress amid a picturesque scenic background near the beach.
"My happy place," Marshall wrote along with a blue heart emoji.
Marshall's holiday snaps drew some wholesome comments from her ex-teammates including Kate Martin.
"Gorgeous girl," Kate Martin wrote.
Other Iowa alums also praised Marshall:
"Pretty friend," ex-Iowa star McKenna Warnock wrote.
"Loving this color on you," Jada Gyamfi commented.
"Absolutely stunning," Iowa forward AJ Ediger wrote.
Gabbie Marshall spent five seasons with the Iowa Hawkeyes. She averaged 6.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in college.
Gabbie Marshall puts time and effort into philanthropy
With her college career over, the ex-Iowa star is now working towards giving back to the community through charity work. In June, she announced on Instagram that she had partnered with 'We Cancervive' to help those battling cancer.
The post also promoted T-shirts from the brand.
"I've joined forces with @cancerbrand_ to amplify awareness, educate and create a lasting positive impact. This year, we're ambitiously targeting $100,000 in donations to support our loved ones in their fight against cancer. These aren't just shirts- they're capes for our heroes. Visit our site to explore apparel representing various types of cancer. Use my name 'Gabbie' at a checkout for an exclusive, limited-time discount. Together. WeCancervive."
While Marshall may have exited the world of basketball, the memories and the friendships she made along the way continue to run strong in her new life.
