Dylan Harper makes history for Rutgers in win vs Columbia

Dylan Harper recorded the first triple-double for Rutgers since 1983 as the Scarlet Knights defeated Columbia 91-64 on Monday night. Harper scored 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists for Rutgers (8-5) on a 6-of-10 shooting. He also made four of seven 3-pointers in an electrifying display that got the crowd of 8,000 on their feet.

The last time a player made a triple-double was 42 years ago when Roy Hinson dominated the court.

"Roy Hinson, not only a great player here and in the NBA, but a great guy, too,” Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell said. “To be mentioned with him, for Dylan, that’s a special thing. I love the fact that he had seven rebounds in the first half. We need him to do those things. And he passed the heck out of the ball.”

Meanwhile, Bailey also put up a stellar performance, finishing with a game-high 24 points, shooting 11-of-18 from the field.

With the non-conference play successfully ended, Rutgers will now focus on the Big Ten play against Indiana on Thursday.
