Dawn Staley congratulated the Louisville women's volleyball team for entering the championship game on Thursday. The Cardinals defeated No. 1 Panthers 3-1, ending its four-game losing streak against Pittsburgh to enter the NCAA finals for the second time in the last three years. They face Penn State in the title game on Sunday.

While Staley's wishes came in light of Louisville's shot at the title, she shed light on the all-women coaching staff that will compete against each other for the NCAA title. She also mentioned Cardinals coach Dani Busboom Kelly and the Lady Lions coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley.

As fans commented on Dawn Staley's X post to extend congratulations and point out the rise of women's sports, a fan tried to troll the South Carolina coach. However, Staley took less than 15 minutes to respond to the user with an apt reply.

"Nobody asked you Dawn!" the user commented.
"Merry merry merry Christmas, grinchy poo poo! 🤣🤣🤣," Staley responded.

Alongside her pursuits with the Gamecocks and contributions to women's basketball, Dawn Staley has been a longtime advocator of all women's sports.

Dawn Staley's method for navigating conflict with her players

Dawn Staley is big on holding her players accountable and helping them correct their mistakes, whether on the court or in their personal lives. In a coach-like manner, Staley allows her emotions to do the talking. However, she balances it out by approaching the situation just like how a parent would treat their child.

"I myself fuss, I cuss but I balance it," Staley said on the Breakfast Club (24:14). It can't be all who you are, I balance it. If they mess up in practice, I'm fussing and cussing. They do something great, I'm chest-bumping and high-fiving and doing all of that."
"I think, I just balance it. It's very much like raising a kid, there's good behavior - you have to let your kid know, and there's bad behavior - you got to slap their wrists and tell them no, don't do that."

The South Carolina Gamecocks (11-1) are currently enjoying a 10-day break from the court in light of Christmas. They are coming off one of the toughest season opening schedules, facing five ranked programs and five neutral site games.
