TCU standout Hailey Van Lith delivered another stellar all-around performance as the No. 10 Horned Frogs secured a 90-81 victory over the UCF Knights on Tuesday night.

Van Lith tied her career best with six 3-pointers, finishing with 20 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals — all without a turnover — in 37 minutes of action. The win marked TCU’s ninth consecutive victory and 16th of the season.

This was Van Lith’s first game with six triples as a TCU player, a feat she achieved thrice during her tenure at Louisville, the most recent being in February 2022 as a sophomore. Despite entering the game shooting just 29.3% from beyond the arc, she sank 6-of-14 attempts.

Van Lith started strong, scoring nine points, dishing out four assists, and grabbing a rebound in the first quarter. This helped the Horned Frogs to a commanding 30-point opening frame. TCU maintained its lead for the remainder of the game.

Tuesday’s matchup was a rematch of TCU’s dominant 92-52 win over UCF on Dec. 21 in Orlando, a game in which Van Lith contributed 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds on 5-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. That victory represented TCU's largest margin in a Big 12 game during their 13-year membership in the conference.

The rematch highlighted the dynamic duo of Van Lith and Sedona Prince, who continue to solidify their case as one of the best pairings in the Big 12 and the nation. Prince delivered an equally impressive performance, posting 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks on 11-of-15 shooting. It was the fourth time this season both players scored 20 or more points in the same game.

While Van Lith and the Horned Frogs have had a strong start, tougher challenges lie ahead, including matchups against No. 23 Utah on Friday, No. 24 Oklahoma State on Jan. 22 and Baylor on Jan. 26.

TCU shines in rematch against UCF

Although the rematch didn’t replicate their dominant 92-52 victory over UCF in last December’s Big 12 Conference opener, the Horned Frogs still delivered an impressive performance.

TCU set the tone early, racking up 30 points in the first quarter — the highest single-quarter output under head coach Mark Campbell — and maintained a double-digit lead for most of the game. At one point, the Frogs led by as many as 23 points, cruising to another league win.

Coming into the game, TCU’s season averages stood at 78.9 ppg, 35.6 rpg, 19.1 apg, 6.7 spg and 5.9 bpg while shooting 46.7% from the field.

Against UCF, the Frogs nearly matched or exceeded those stats, posting 90 points, 34 rebounds, 29 assists on 32 made field goals, five steals and three blocks.
