Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have been named the ambassadors of the ColorWonder line from the haircare brand, Madison Reed. Ice Brady and Morgan Cheli will front the launch along with the senior guards.
Founded by UConn alum, Amy Errett, the brand is also reported to have court naming rights for the arenas in the school. In an announcement on Instagram, the team said:
"Welcoming Madison Reed into our home at Gampel Pavilion and XL Center through court naming rights and larger partnership with the UConn women’s basketball team sends a strong message to our team of athletes, reinforcing that hard work, determination and purpose pays off, on and off the court.
"Through this partnership, @madisonreed is the first female-founded, grad-founded brand by @amyerrett with court naming rights at UConn."
In a statement (via BeautyINC), Founder and Chief Executive officer Amy Errett said:
“Our products, traditionally, have been focused around covering gray hair. ColorWonder opens the door for consumers to start coloring with Madison Reed when you’re 24 and keep on coloring with us until you’re 75 — that’s a powerful brand promise.”
Paige Bueckers, who has for long been associated with blond hair, changed it to a pinkish-red for the campaign. About her partnership with the brand, she said in a statement (via CT Insider):
"I'm proud to partner with Madison Reed and share how ColorWonder helps me have fun with hair color and express different sides of my personality and style. From the start, it was clear that Madison Reed was a company whose values around team and opportunity aligned with mine."
Paige Bueckers hones her entrepreneurial skills through her NIL deals
As part of her endorsement partnership with Madison Reed, Paige Bueckers and the other players are set to receive entrepreneurial development and mentorship opportunities, per the release.
Some of these opportunities include providing the players with an equity stake in the brand's business and exposure to the company's internal and external networks.
Paige Bueckers and her teammates will also be allowed to pursue internships with Madison Reed for class credit and will have the chance to franchise a Madison Reed Hair Color Bar in the future.
This is not Bueckers' first NIL signing with these stipulations. Last week, it was reported that the UConn guard is set to sign a deal with the professional women's basketball league, Unrivaled. That will make her the first college player to sign such a deal and receive an ownership stake in a team.
