American rapper Cam'ron expressed frustration with former Duke men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski for seemingly ignoring him when he tried to have a conversation. During Monday's episode of Cam'ron's podcast "It Is What It Is," he had some harsh words for Coach K.
The episode was almost over when he saw Coach Krzyzewski walk by the studio. Excited, Cam'ron went to greet him, but the coach was not interested and gave him the cold shoulder.
Offended, Cam'ron threatened to turn the podcast into an investigative journalism program to expose Coach K's alleged recruitment methods at Duke.
"We need to do an investigation on Coach K behind that s***... You think you got Zion [Williamson] for free before the NIL? Google this real quick. How many banks do Coach K own? You gonna walk off on me Coach K? Coach K owns mad banks in North Carolina, and he been funneling n***as money for years," Cam'ron said.
"Coach K got mad banks in North Carolina, Zion to Grant Hill to everybody he been putting through his banks so it looks legitimate. He been paying n***as for years before the NIL."
Co-hosts Mase and Treasure Wilson could not hold back their laughter and eventually walked off the set, while the producers abruptly ended the episode by rolling the credits.
Coach K faces backlash from Baron Davis
Baron Davis, a former NBA star, blamed Coach K for his inability to play for the United States national team in the Olympics. Davis was picked third overall by the Charlotte Hornets in 1999 and played 13 seasons in the NBA.
The two-time NBA All-Star appeared on "The Volume" podcast last week, where he spoke to Draymond Green, saying that Krzyzewski held a grudge against him, probably because Davis decided to play for UCLA instead of Duke.
"So I always felt like Coach K had a hate on me. You know what I mean?" Davis told Green. "And I was right about that. During the Olympic tryouts, I was coming off of 23 and 8 and didn't get a tryout. I can't get a tryout? Name 30 people better than me. Okay, name twelve. Name four guards better than me."
Krzyzewski, who coached Team USA in multiple tournaments, earned three gold medals in the Olympics, two in the FIBA World Championship and one in the FIBA Americas Championship.
