Penny Hardaway has plenty of respect for the best players in the NBA, both past and present, including his admiration for the way that Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry changed the modern game of basketball.

The Memphis Tigers coach went on "The Draymond Green Show" on Thursday. They discussed several topics and Hardaway looked back on playing against Michael Jordan when he first came out of retirement for the Chicago Bulls and naming his top five NBA point guards.

Another topic that was brought up was Curry, who is highly regarded for his shooting prowess and his ability to move the ball at a fluid rate. While his shotmaking has some viewing him as a shooting guard, his ability to be a floor general has Hardaway wondering about his true position.

"I have so much love for Steph," Hardaway said. " ... It's just, it's crazy, man, because they talk about the best point guard is still a point guard? Is he a shooting guard? What are we talking about? Yeah, I'm just saying, what is the point guard? That's what I'm saying.
"So when we talk about point guards, bro, how can you leave the little he's a I remember saying a long time ago that dude is an assassin, bro. He got a baby face. That dude an assassin. Man, what he's done to the game. You cannot leave him out any conversation."

Penny Hardaway reveals stance on the GOAT debate

A lot of players are brought up when it comes to the debate of who the greatest player of all time is. The most common names are Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

When it comes to Penny Hardaway's thoughts on the discussion, he has high remarks for them but has a different way of seeing who is the best.

"I view it differently, right?" Hardaway said. "Because LeBron got the numbers. You got MJ, who had this innate way of just hitting 50 whenever he wanted and was crazy with it, and win the championships, undefeated in finals. And then you had Kobe, who mimicked MJ, who had IQ, who had toughness and who had the shotmaking ability and won championships himself. So I put them in those categories."

Jordan, James and Bryant have 15 NBA championships combined with 22 NBA finals appearances. Being an All-Star is an annual feat for them, on top of All-NBA selections. The impacts they left on the game from the 1980s to the present will not be forgotten by basketball fans around the world.
