Kiyan Anthony shares a special relationship with his mother La La even after her divorce from NBA great Carmelo Anthony. On Monday, the duo showed yet another example of their affection towards one another as they shared an adorable moment on social media once again.
Earlier in the day, Kiyan got a fresh look with his latest haircut, which La La was happy to show off with her latest Instagram story. La La, who has nearly 15 million followers on Instagram, also gave a cheeky remark about her son's new look as he enjoyed 'Time 4 You' by BTB Dezz in the car.
"He got a cut so he's feeling himself," joked La La.
The haircut comes a few days after La La poked fun at Kiyan's long hair, where she pulled his hair on an Instagram story.
Why Kiyan Anthony is the reason La La still keeps the Anthony name
La La divorced Carmelo Anthony in 2021 citing "irreconcilable differences." However, the 'Think Like a Man' actress has kept her ex-husband's last name and has vowed to do so until their son Kiyan makes it to the NBA and she buys his jersey.
"That’s why I haven’t changed my last name yet,” La La said per Page Six in August. “I’m gonna keep it around for a little while!"
She also admitted that she would support her son no matter which team he lands up in, even if it's not the New York Knicks, where Carmelo Anthony made a name for himself with some incredible displays at Madison Square Garden.
"I’m sorry I’m going where my kid goes! Wherever my kid is at, that’s who I’m rooting for."
Kiyan Anthony has a major decision to make in terms of his future, as he needs to choose which college he will attend. The four-star shooting guard, who's ranked the top prospect in New York, has shortlisted Rutgers, Auburn, Ohio State, FSU, USC and his father's alma mater, Syracuse.
He will make an official visit to the USC Trojans on September 26 and will follow that up with an official visit to Rutgers Scarlet Knights exactly eight days later per 247Sports. Ultimately, the decision will purely be his as his father admitted he has left that major decision to his son's best judgment.
