The college basketball world had an interesting reaction to Villanova's measurement blunder for forward Tim Delaney. Fans noticed the odd measurement on the team's website.
As Villanova was updating the roster, it accidentally put Delaney at 68 feet and five inches, instead of 6-foot-8.5. It was funny to see Delaney listed at 68 feet tall, and fans reacted accordingly.
"Ppl talk about a bad roster fit, I’m not sure this dude would even fit into the arena," a fan wrote.
"He’s selling used tires at auto zone," another fan wrote.
Other fans, meanwhile, were joking that Victor Wembanyama is now scared about his fit in the NBA.
"Wembanyama has been real quiet since this post," a fan added.
"First player to be too tall to dunk," a fan added.
The funny reactions didn't stop there, as some fans said his height could cause a problem.
"Gotta be in the running for tallest man ever?," another fan wrote.
"Absolutely great guy, recall watching him play in high school, played a bit shorter than 68 foot though, closer to 50 up close," a fan wrote.
It was a good reaction from college basketball fans over the typo from Villanova, which has since been fixed.
Delaney played college basketball at Villanova from 2015 until 2019. According to his LinkedIn, he now works as a financial analyst for Wells Fargo.
Villanova looking to rebound after disappointing season
The Villanova Wildcats had a disappointing year, as they failed to make the NCAA Tournament and were eliminated in the NIT Tournament.
Now, entering the 2024-25 season, head coach Kyle Neptune said he is frustrated with the events of last year.
“Me being the head coach here, me understanding that, being part of this place for so long, it just motivated me, and it’s motivating our staff to go out and rectify it," Neptune said, via Delco Today.
"There’s no one that’s more frustrated about how last season went than me. No matter what, there’s no one on earth more invested in this place being what it should be than Kyle Neptune,” he added.
Neptune has been the head coach of the Wildcats for two years and has a record of 35-33.
