Duke wunderkind Cooper Flagg put up a solid performance against George Mason on Tuesday night. In the Blue Devils' 68-47 win over the Patriots at home, Flagg scored 24 points and contributed 9 rebounds.

College basketball fans were unconvinced by Flagg's performance in Duke's last game against Incarnate Word, where he scored just six points.

Cooper Flagg stats vs. George Mason (Dec. 17)

Duke's Cooper Flagg rebounded from his subpar performance last week to put up impressive numbers in Tuesday's game against George Mason.

Flagg finished the game with almost a double-double, posting 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in 35 minutes of playing time. He shot 7-of-20 from the field, including 2-of-5 from the 3-point line and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Here is the full stat line of Cooper Flagg:

  • 35 minutes played
  • 24 points scored
  • 9 rebounds
  • 4 assists
  • 1 block
  • 3 steals
  • 2 turnovers
  • 7-20 FG
  • 2-5 3PT
  • 8-8 FT

His 24 points led all scorers on the night, and he was the clear standout performer for the No. 5 Blue Devils as they cruised to a comfortable 21-point victory over the Patriots.

The New Port, Maine native began scoring for Duke with a 3-pointer in the first few minutes and by halftime, he had seven points. He continued in the second half, going on a tear and scoring 17 more points to lead the Blue Devils to a dominant win.

Despite Flagg's strong display, his shooting still remains an area of concern, as he shot just 35% from the field against the Patriots.

Moreover, his consistency has also been called into question this season, with five games in which he scored below 15 points and three games in which he scored only single-digit points.

After Game 11, Flagg is averaging 16.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for Jon Scheyer's Duke (9-2).
