Western Kentucky star Don McHenry had basketball fans in disbelief after he pulled off a jaw-dropping ankle-breaker move during the Hilltoppers' 91-71 win over the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers on Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena. McHenry’s dribbling wizardry was shared by @filayyyy on his Instagram account on Monday.
McHenry displayed his incredible handles with less than five minutes remaining in the second half. He received a pass in the left corner and pump-faked a 3-point attempt with Kentucky Wesleyan's Alex Gray closing in on him. McHenry dribbled to his right and faked a gather before crossing over to his left with a hesitation move to create some separation from Gray.
McHenry didn't stop toying with his defender. He immediately crossed over to his right and stepped back for good measure to put Gray on skates. McHenry placed his feet beyond the arc and buried the ensuing 3-point shot to give Western Kentucky a 79-63 lead. Gray tried his hardest to defend McHenry, who got fouled while hitting the outside jumper. McHenry covered his face as he celebrated the four-point play opportunity while lying on the floor.
Fans took to Instagram to react to McHenry's outstanding play.
"Hello officer? I'd like to report a crime," one fan joked.
"Touch earth and the wait is wildly insane," one fan wrote.
"You don't even try to guard that. Lol, just let that man dance. Ain't no chaperone for this," another fan shared.
"Every hood got that guy on the court that always wins playing 21, another fan posted.
"Nasty work," one fan commented.
"Damnnnn," another fan reacted.
McHenry himself also wrote a comment.
"Much love bro," McHenry replied.
