Coach Tommy Lloyd speaks about Carter Bryant’s progress in Arizona’s victory over Cincinnati
Arizona Wildcats forward Carter Bryant delivered an impressive performance against Cincinnati and coach Tommy Lloyd shared his admiration.
Lloyd highlighted Bryant’s progress, both as a player and as a person, emphasizing the unique combination of talent and character the freshman brings to the Wildcats.
“Carter is really making progress,” Lloyd said. “He checks two boxes that are really hard to check. He’s an elite talent, and he has elite character.”
Bryant shot a perfect five-for-five from the field, including three-for-three from beyond the arc. Lloyd joked about the one missed free throw, calling it the only blemish on what was otherwise an outstanding night.
“He had a perfect night,” Lloyd added. “Super proud of him and the person that he is. He has continued to get better with an amazing attitude. Carter is someone we’re all proud of.”
"When you’re somebody with Carter’s stature, and you come to a place out of Arizona, the expectations might be a little unrealistic."
Beyond his numbers, Bryant’s maturity and composure stood out. Lloyd emphasized that the refinement and experience needed for long-term success will come with time, but Bryant’s foundation of talent and character sets him up for a bright future.
