Fans react to Bronny James' unwillingness to workout for other NBA teams ahead of the draft

Fans reacted to Jonathan Givony's revelation that NBA teams, despite having an interest in Bronny James, are finding it hard to get the defensive guard work out for them. Besides the LA Lakers, the Phoenix Suns are the only franchise that have had James in their arena.

Apart from the 19-year-old meticulously going through the 10+ pre-draft workout invitations, his agent Rich Paul adds another layer to James' unavailibility. Paul has claimed that he will not encourage any 2-way offers for James, which is what players ranging in the deep second round are generally handed.

That has divided fans as they discussed Bronny James on social media:

"Who does he think he is 💀," a fan wrote.
"How is bro already a diva at 19," another follower pointed at James' gambits.
"6’0 guard who can’t play offense and averaged 5PPG is denying workouts Embarrassing," another NBA fan quipped.

Despite the refuting and bleak responses, several fans defended James as well:

"He’s an elite prospect, so he’s only going to an elite team," a fan defended James' basketball acumen.
"Klutch moving like The Sopranos," another fan chimed in with praise for Rich Paul.
"Just like most things in life, its about who you know. Which is totally fine, when you have the opportunity, you better put yourself in the best position," another follower gave an impartial reposnse.

The Lakers are heavily favored to draft Bronny James

In an interview before the 2024 All-Star game, LeBron James denied rumors about his alleged trade talks with the Golden State Warriors. He said that Bronny James' NBA journey will come strictly through the 19-year-old's choices and desires.

Now, less than 10 days before the draft, it seems like Rich Paul and Bronny James are about to solidify Bronny's entry to the purple and gold. As Jonathan Givony hints, NBA teams are giving up his pursuit, which eliminates competition and makes it easier for the Lakers to draft LeBron James' son.

However, there's more at play within the franchise. For years, LeBron James, the NBA's scoring leader, has said that playing alongside his son in the league is his ultimate goal.

Moreover, LBJ is yet to decide on his player option with the Lakers, which is due on June 29. With that, Bronny James' entry will not only make LeBron James' dream come true but also work as leverage for the Lakers to ensure that LeBron stays with the organization.
