The Southeastern Conference has been dominating the AP Top 25 poll this season, and the latest rankings on Monday haven't changed that. In total, nine SEC teams are ranked for Week 11, five of which are in the top 10, including No. 1 Auburn.

Other SEC teams in the Top 25 include No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 21 Ole Miss and No. 23 Georgia.

Auburn rises to No. 1 in AP Top 25 poll

Auburn has claimed the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll, marking the second time in program history to achieve the milestone. Its move to No. 1 comes after former leader Tennessee suffered its first loss of the season against Florida (73-43 on Tuesday), ending a five-week reign at the top. The Tigers, who earned 60 of 62 first-place votes, are the third team to occupy the No. 1 position this season.

Under the leadership of Bruce Pearl, Auburn (15-1) has only lost to Duke in December. Since then, the Tigers have secured eight consecutive wins.

However, the team’s future performance may hinge on the recovery of star forward Johni Broome, who suffered an ankle injury during Auburn’s narrow 66-63 win over South Carolina on Saturday.

Tennessee, after holding the No. 1 position since December, dropped to No. 6 following its 30-point loss to Florida. Although the Volunteers recovered with a 74-70 win at Texas on Saturday, the loss significantly impacted their ranking.

Iowa State has climbed to No. 2, the highest ranking in the program’s history. Duke, Alabama and Florida occupy the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively, with both Duke and Florida receiving first-place votes.

Marquette remained steady at No. 7, the only team to hold its position from the previous week. Kentucky, Kansas and Houston complete the top 10.

Other significant movements in the poll include Michigan State and Michigan, which both rose four spots to No. 12 and No. 20. Illinois experienced the biggest drop of the week, falling six places to No. 19 after a disappointing home loss to USC.

Georgia entered the rankings at No. 23, marking a significant return after a 14-year absence, while Wisconsin and Baylor debuted at No. 24 and No. 25.

The Big Ten follows the SEC with six teams in the AP Top 25 poll, while the Big 12 features four ranked programs. Other conferences represented in the poll include the Big East with two teams, along with single entries from the ACC, West Coast, American Athletic and Mountain West conferences.
