Transferring from DePaul, Aneesah Morrow knew that plenty of teams would want her services. She didn't realize until later that she had 35 options to choose from before narrowing it down.

Morrow spoke with Haley Jones on an episode of the Player's Tribune uploaded to YouTube on August 2023. They went over topics like Morrow's time in high school, her stint at DePaul, her future as a basketball star, and more.

One of the questions revolved around Morrow's recruiting process upon entering the transfer portal after playing at DePaul for two years. Even though she ended up selecting the LSU Tigers, the decision wasn't easy for her, especially with South Carolina and USC also being on her radar.

"I had 35 options to pick from. It was a bit overwhelming. But I just knew, like I wanted to come to a school where I would be able to, of course, showcase my game, but at the highest level. And I felt like those three schools, for me, would be the best options for my style of play," Morrow said.

Aneesah Morrow wanted to enjoy the process, not rush it

Aneesah Morrow averaged 25.7 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.6 steals, two assists and 1.3 blocks in her sophomore season with DePaul.

While she received All-American honors as well as Freshman of the Year awards, her name was still unknown to many people after entering the portal. So, to garner attention, she took her time making her decision until transferring to LSU in May 2023.

"A lot of people didn't know my name, and I wanted to enjoy my process, like a lot of people were saying that I was prolonging it, like just dragging it out. But I was like, it's important for me to enjoy this, because it's the opportunity that you only get once in a lifetime. So I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest," Morrow said.
"I try to stay as consistent as I possibly can but I also want to be challenged by my teammates and my coach and staff. I want them to have my back and I felt like LSU was the best fit for that."

Aneesah Morrow is averaging 18.2 points, 13 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.2 assists per game in nine appearances this season. She is shooting 52.5% from the field and 74% from the free-throw line.

Morrow has played a key role in the Tigers starting the season 10-0, coming off a 131-44 rout of North Carolina Central on Sunday. No. 7 LSU will look to improve to 11-0 when they host Stanford at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
