As Isaac Ellis from the Overtime Elite League nears his college career, he recently tested his college basketball knowledge. In a collaborative video with the YNG Dreamerz and Overtime, the North Carolina native was tasked with choosing which player had more NCAA points between two options. After correctly selecting Jimmer Fredette over Blake Griffin, Ellis mistakenly chose Zach Edey over JJ Redick.
Ellis bounced back, successfully picking Armando Bacot over Ja Morant, but was stumped when choosing between Wilt Chamberlain and Grayson Allen. Although he correctly picked Allen, the 17-year-old hinted that he did not know which college the Lakers legend attended.
"I don't even know where Wilt Chamberlain went to college. UCLA?" he said. "That one's hard, I was about to say."
Wilt Chamberlain played two seasons of college basketball for the University of Kansas from 1956 to 1958. He quickly became one of the most dominant players in the nation, leading the Jayhawks to the NCAA finals in his sophomore year.
He scored a game-high 23 points and 14 rebounds in the triple overtime game against the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, UNC escaped with a 54-53 win. Chamberlain was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament behind averages of 27.7 points and 15.5 rebounds.
Isaac Ellis receives another Division I offer
Isaac Ellis' college offer list continues to grow, with the 6-foot-1 guard recently receiving an offer from the South Carolina Gamecocks. He shared the exciting news in an Instagram post on his account.
The four-star prospect in the Class of 2026 is now evaluating offers from seven schools including Radford, Eastern Kentucky, Old Dominion and High Point University.
The 17-year-old is currently averaging 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while playing with his brother, Eli Ellis, for the YNG Dreamerz in the 2024-25 campaign.
Eli Eliss, ranked No. 68 in the upcoming talent class, has already committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks. This opens up the possibility for Isaac Ellis to continue his partnership with his brother at the collegiate level.
This would continue the trend of siblings playing college basketball together, as seen with Cayden and Cameron Boozer, who committed to Duke this summer and will begin their collegiate careers in the 2025-26 season.
