After two back-to-back NCAA Championships, UConn Huskies and coach Dan Hurley are preparing for the next season with a third in mind. If they do manage to win, the Huskies will be the first program since the UCLA Bruins, who won seven in a row in the late 1960s and 70s, to achieve a three-peat.

Doing this is not an easy task and during an interview on 'College Hoops Today' with Jon Rothstein, Dan Hurley was asked if he had reached out to anyone for advice. He said:

"Not at this point. I just think that we need to approach this upcoming season kind of the same way that we just approached this past season. I don’t think that you need a lot of advice on how to deal with that.
"I sought all of that out through Billy Donovan, Jay Wright, and Coach K and some of the people I talk to when I was trying to go back-to-back a year ago. I think we just take the same approach as we took this past year. I think I do a great job of rooting out complacency, so that’s what we’re focused on."

Dan Hurley has made some major changes to the roster following the exit of Donovan Clingan, Stephon Castle, Cam Spencer and Tristen Newton to the NBA. Aidan Mahaney has joined from the transfer portal. Ahmad Nowell, Isaiah Abraham and Liam McNeeley are the incoming freshman recruits.

Dan Hurley credits his coaching staff for UConn's success

It is not a one-man job at UConn and Dan Hurley highlighted the important role of his coaching staff for the Huskies' success. His staff includes Kimani Young as the Associate Head Coach, along with Tom Moore and Luke Murray as the assistant coaches.

In an interview with ESPN, coach Hurley said:

"It is hard to put together a staff because there aren't a lot of people who can work for me, just the intensity of how we go about our business and the way we run our program. It is a different intensity level."
"I am tough on the people who play for me and work for me. I am demanding, so it is always hard for me to find people to hire."

With his recent contract extension from earlier this month, Dan Hurley has retained all his staff with much higher salaries.
