Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird hilariously joked about Paige Bueckers' braids during the WNBA All-Star bonus episode of "A Touch More" podcast released on Aug. 10. As Bird directed all of Bueckers' attention to herself, Rapinoe hid behind the Seattle Storm legend and clipped in colorful braids to mimic the UConn guard.

Rapinoe intended to inspire Bueckers to color her "iconic braids" with her funny stunt. The guard initially did not understand the motive but soon sarcastically said that the style looked good on Rapinoe but that she could not pull it off like the former winger.

"I have some ideas for you for your iconic braids for your braids," Rapinoe said (Timestamp: 1:02:34). "Now that Caitlin's gone you're going to be an icon in women's basketball and you got to spice it up, you got to keep people on their toes, so what do you think?"
"I think it's great for you, that's a good look for you," Bueckers said (Timestamp: 1:03:01). "No, actually I am getting my hair dyed here pretty soon. It's a surprise. But that's a good look for you, I probably can't pull it off."

Bueckers debuted her dripping pink hair weeks later through a NIL collaboration with Madison Reed for its ColorWonder product line.

Geno Auriemma talks about Paige Bueckers' low-scoring return

Paige Bueckers scored 12 points in her return against the St. John's Red Storm on Wednesday. Bueckers suffered a lower body sprain against Villanova on Jan. 5, keeping her sidelined for two games.

Geno Auriemma backed up his star guard's rusty performance, hoping that Bueckers will be in better form on Sunday against Seton Hall.

"I never doubt what Paige can do to impact the game because I've seen it so many times but I also know she's not a robot where you just put her in, push the button, and everything happens automatically," Auriemma said (Timestamp: 10:20). "But, I'm glad we had her back today and she'll be even better on Sunday. Let's just hope that's the last of this."

While she finished with over 50% shooting, Bueckers opened the game by converting only one of her first four shots. Apart from her shooting woes (0-for-2 from 3-point line), Bueckers also struggled to get her shots up. Her seven shot attempts on Wednesday are her lowest of the season.
