Kiyan Anthony has taken a U-turn over his earlier comments about who would win if LeBron James and Bronny James paired up to face him and his father, Carmelo Anthony. Kiyan Anthony was more confident in his latest comments about the hypothetical match that he had previously thought he and his father would lose.

Kiyan is a four-star rated prospect by 247Sports, and said the following in an interview posted by Overtime on July 7:

"I think Bron and Bronny would win, to be honest.Just because Bron is still in the league. He's still doing what he doing. But it will be a close game, I feel like it will be like 11-8 or 11-7."

However, in the Tuesday episode of "7 PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony & Kid Mero," he said:

"I think we could win, I think we could win," Anthony said.

It would certainly be an interesting matchup. Bronny James was selected 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA draft, finding a place in his father's team. Kiyan Anthony, the No. 32 overall prospect in the class of 2025 (as per 247Sports), would make a great teammate for his father, a 10-time NBA All-Star.

Kiyan's performance in the recently concluded Nike Peach Jam has brought national attention. He averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in the tournament and dropped 40 points in a game against Mac Irvin Fire.

Kiyan Anthony discusses Bronny James's journey - "That's fire"

Bronny James suffered a cardiac incident in July 2023, when he was at the top of NBA draft discussions. That and an underwhelming season in college basketball cast doubts about his draft prospects. Despite facing heavy criticism, Bronny ultimately made it to the NBA.

On the "7 PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony & Kid Mero" podcast, Kiyan Anthony discussed Bronny joining his father at the Lakers:

"It was fire, just to know that he started it and now I got a chance to get to where he's at in the league, that's fire. I texted him and everything, we were on the phone like that's really fire. Especially him playing with his pops, that's crazy, that's so crazy to me."

Kiyan Anthony faced Bronny James when the latter was a senior in high school basketball. Anthony added that he looked forward to facing him again.
