Hanna Cavinder has emerged as a social media sensation alongside her twin sister Haley in recent years. Earlier today, the younger Cavinder twin took to TikTok to unleash a rant against those who use social media to criticize athletes or celebrities.
In her latest TikTok video, which lasted nearly two minutes, Hanna said the negative comments anger her and that she feels such actions are wrong.
"I’m just gonna get this off my chest because this s**t is just literally fires me up and annoys me so much about social media and society nowadays.
"I don’t understand why viewers or fans or whatever it is get satisfaction from commenting on a person or athletes’ looks on social media — or roasting them and thinking it’s just OK to comment about what they look like, come at them, tear them down like these people aren’t human beings.
"It’s actually sickening nowadays how society can just turn a blind eye to someone’s comments about what a person looks like online. And it’s just sickening that people all satisfaction from humiliating someone about their looks."
Hanna Cavinder offers a strong piece of advice to social media critics
Towards the end of her rant, Cavinder suggested those who ridicule how athletes look should keep their opinions to themselves.
"I get it all the time, and I think it’s just absolutely ridiculous how people can go out of their way to do that, and it just fires me up.
"So, I’m just going to get on here and tell you guys that if you have anything not nice to say to a person, maybe just like shut up and don’t say one word because it affects people’s lives. We’re all human beings. We look at comments. Grow up!"
After retiring from college basketball following the 2022 campaign, Hanna is set to return to the Miami Hurricanes for her final year of eligibility. She will team with sister Haley, who flipped her commitment from TCU to Miami.
The Cavinder Twins helped the Hurricanes achieve their best-ever finish in a college basketball season, reaching the Elite Eight in 2022. They hope to impress again and end their college careers on a high note.
