Haley Cavinder is making the most of her final college season with the Miami Hurricanes. The guard and her twin, Hanna, are attempting to recreate their previous successful run at Miami when they led the team to the Elite Eight in 2023.
The Hurricanes are on an 11-3 run and their latest loss (74-56) was against Louisville on Thursday. Haley Cavinder documented the day and shared it with fans on Friday via Instagram.
"Game day vlog," she captioned the post.
Haley's day began at 9 a.m. when she had breakfast with her teammates, along with a bit of stretching. After a coffee run at 10, she joined her twin, Hanna, for lifts. At noon, the team had a shootaround. Cavinder said that they ended it with half-court shots like they always do.
"Hanna and I both missed ours. I’ve not made one this season," she said.
The Hurricanes' pre-game meal at 3 p.m. also involved them reviewing film, before getting ready for the tipoff. Cavinder mentioned that they watched the Notre Dame vs Georgia football game. Hanna Cavinder's boyfriend is former Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck who declared for the NFL draft.
Haley Cavinder wrapped up her vlog with the team landing in Miami for the loss to the Cardinals, where the guard put up 19 points and six rebounds.
Miami coach once praised Hanna and Haley Cavinder for their work ethic during practice
Even before the season began, the Cavinder twins earned big praise from Miami coach Tricia Cullop. After seeing them in practice during the offseason, Cullop said in an interview with The Miami Herald in August:
"They both are so talented, have great work ethic, they have a great history here. I’m thrilled to have both of them back. ... They can show the rest of the players, 'This is how we do it.'
"They are two of the hardest workers I’ve ever been around. They’re in the gym at 6 or 6:30 in the morning and they’re leaders on the court.”
Haley Cavinder is averaging 18.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, while Hanna is putting up 7.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per outing. Haley is the most efficient from mid-range as she made 47.8% of her shots while only making 24.3% from the 3-point range.
