Hanna and Haley Cavinder — one of the most popular duos in college basketball — have been inseparable on and off the court. After a year-long break from college ball, they have returned for a fifth and final season with the Miami Hurricanes.

The twins began their basketball together at a young age, even before they started preschool. They grew up in the small town of Gilbert Arizona and played on the Gilbert High School varsity team.

On Tuesday, Haley Cavinder joined teammate Jasmyne Roberts and Miami coach Tricia Cullop at the ACC Tipoff in North Carolina. During her time at the podium, she discussed her decision to reunite with her sister Hanna for one more season.

"I think it's hard to be in a position where it's either you stay at a school or you go back to a school to play with your twin sister for your last year. Hanna and I played the game forever together. I've never played a game without her," Haley said.
"But at the end of the day, I'm really excited to be back with her, with Coach TC as our leader and her new staff to play our last season together at Miami."

The Cavinder twins began their college journey at Fresno State University. They spent three years playing for the Bulldogs before transferring to Miami in 2022. Shortly after averaging 12.2 points and 4.5 rebounds as a senior for the Hurricanes, Haley along with her sister, decided to end their basketball career.

However, after a year, the duo announced they would come back for one final season. Initially, Haley had planned to join TCU but later decided to return to Miami to reunite with her sister.

Haley Cavinder shares her excitement to play with teammate Jasmyne Roberts

With a new season ahead, along with a new team and many fresh faces, Haley Cavinder is ready to hit the hard court this fall.

Joining the powerhouse in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Cavinder expressed being excited to continue her chemistry with Jasmyne Roberts.

"I think it's going to be great. Me and Jas always stayed in touch when I was in season last year," Haley said during ACC tipoff. "Just being able to get back on the court with her, she's a great teammate. She's a great leader. And being able to just lead our team and just build off that chemistry.

Haley Cavinder played with Jasmyne Roberts for a season at Miami before her brief pause. Last season, Roberts averaged 11.1 ppg, and 4.9 rpg as a junior.
