LSU coach Kim Mulkey had a trip down memory lane after the Lady Tigers dominated Grambling State 100-54 in a 2024-25 women's college basketball game at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisana, on Sunday.

It was another wire-to-wire win for No. 5-ranked LSU, who raced to a 29-13 lead in the first quarter and didn't look back as it improved to 11-0.

During the post-game presser, Mulkey looked back on her time as a player for Louisiana Tech. She remembered watching college football games when Mississippi Valley State greats Willie Totten and Jerry Rice come to town to play against Grambling State.

The four-time women's college basketball national champion coach said that she had to watch the bands of both teams play before going home, during her time with Louisiana Tech.

"I will never go back and play at Grambling. I will never go back and play at Louisiana Tech. There's something about my heart that wouldn't feel right to go compete against people that I love," Kim Mulkey said (2:08).

The veteran coach added that Sunday's game was very special due to the people she knew from Simsboro, Arcadia and Rustin, who came to meet and chat with her after not seeing each other for a long time.

"There's people out there from gramlin from simsboro from Arcadia from Rustin that came here because they haven't seen me in years, and that's touching to me," Kim Mulkey said. (2:20)

However, that would change come game time, as the ferocity and competitiveness of the Lady Tigers coach were on full display against Grambling State. She guided her team to a masterful performance and led by 48 points before coasting along with the victory.

LSU shot 48.7% from the field and limited Grambling State to 29.4%. The Lady Tigers mauled their SWAC namesakes in the rebounding department, ruling the battle of the boards 64-30, including a 27-14 edge on the offensive glass.

LSU put up 58 inside points and 30 fast break points despite coughing up 20 errors. Aneesah Morrow topscored for the Lady Tigers with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting and contributed 16 rebounds, one assist, four steals and one block.
