Aaliyah Crump's high school coach vouches for guard's talents
In her junior year at Minnetonka High School, Aaliyah Crump averaged 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per contest, shooting 56.3% from the field. She led the Skippers to a 29-2 record and a Class 4A championship after the 64-56 win over Hopkins, earning the All-Metro First-Team selection.
Commenting on Crump's skills, Minnetonka coach Brian Cosgriff said to the Star Tribune:
"She's way up there skill-wise. I think her ability to work hard and her dedication definitely makes her one of the best I've coached. Her best basketball is ahead of her.
"She has tremendous upside," he added. "I think Texas is getting a great player with Aaliyah, who is only scratching the surface of her potential. She's so much more than a great basketball player, too. She's a great person," Cosgriff added.
Crump was part of the Team USA roster that won gold at the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Merida, Mexico. She averaged 9.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg while shooting 39% from 3-point range in USA's 6-0 run to the title. The 6-foot-1 guard was also one of the finalists for the 2024 USA Women's U17 National Team.
