Flau'jae Johnson is ready to take charge at LSU

Flau'jae Johnson, a Savannah, Georgia native, will enter her junior year in Baton Rouge this upcoming season. She has enjoyed a decent time under coach Kim Mulkey and winning the national championship in her freshman year.

Johnson averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game last season, teaming up with Angel Reese to guide LSU to the Elite Eight. For the new campaign, Flau'jae will have increased responsibility and expectations.

Speaking with Alex Chappel of SEC Network during her attendance at the Tiger's football matchup against Nicholls State on Saturday, Johnson emphasized her newfound role as a leader in the team.

"I think for me, just being the leader and I'm trying to intel what like being a leader is and trying to lead the team, Flau'jae said. " I know the system, I know Coach Mulkey, so I have to go display that every day."

Apart from basketball, Flau'jae Johnson is a rising rap singer, with her debut EP "Best of Both Worlds' receiving critical acclaim.
