The son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, Kiyan Anthony has started making a name for himself as a prospect to watch out for with his performances in the 2024 Nike Peach Jam. He was one of the best players in the tournament and averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Away from the court, Anthony is on his way to Tokyo, Japan, for a vacation. On Instagram, his mother, LaLa, shared a series of pictures of her son preparing for the plane ride. She also joked about Anthony's pajamas in one of the images.
Kiyan Anthony discusses his future
Kiyan Anthony, who attends Long Island Lutheran, recently narrowed down the schools he would consider offers to six. They include Ohio State, USC, Rutgers, Florida State, Auburn and his father's alma mater, Syracuse.
During the 2024 Nike EYBL Peach Jam, the prospect discussed the programs that had already extended offers to him.
“They’re (Syracuse) on me heavy. I’m looking to take a second visit. I want to go to a basketball game when the season starts. I know it’s (Ohio State) a new building program with coach (Jake) Diebler over there. They were the first coaches in the gym to come see me today so that shows that they’re really interested in me. I really like that so they’re really high on my list. I’m looking forward to taking a visit after Peach," Kiyan Anthony said.
Carmelo Anthony's son, who has been making a name for himself in various circuits and tournaments around the country, is considered a four-star prospect and the No. 27 ranked player in the class of 2025, according to On3.
In an interview with On3, Kiyan Anthony discussed the aspects he would look for in any school he ultimately chose to play for.
“I’m looking for good coaching, and I want to play for a good team,” Anthony said. “I want to win. I feel like all the schools that I am talking to have a winning culture. I’ll want to go somewhere that is family-oriented too. Fast-paced, an offense that spreads the floor and keys in on versatility and guard play.”
The Syracuse Orange fans will be glad that the son of the man who led them to a national championship still has them under consideration as his next destination.
