Azzi Fudd took to Instagram to share some snaps from her graduation ceremony at the University of Connecticut. The Huskies star was seen posing with teammates Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards. While Fudd and Bueckers will return for another season for the Huskies, Edwards has already plunged into the WNBA world.
The carousel featured Fudd’s parents Tim and Katie Fudd, who missed their daughter for the photo. She also shared a snap with her whole family to mark the occasion. Take a look at the Instagram post here.
“Graduate in 3,” the caption of the post read.
According to Fudd, UConn has faced a lot of adversity in all the years she has represented the program. She suffered a season-ending injury last season after returning to the court after her ACL tear that drew curtains on her 2022-23 season. She would hope that injuries don't hamper her final season in East Hartford and she can be of more help to her team and friend Paige Bueckers.
Azzi Fudd is currently enjoying the offseason and told CBS in an interview that she has been away from basketball since the season ended. Her training has been mostly in the weight room but the hunger to overcome adversity is still there, according to the UConn star.
When Azzi Fudd spoke candidly about her relationship with Paige Bueckers
Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers aren't just teammates at UConn but each other's best friends. Fudd revealed that their relationship is like that of a thousand siblings and they fight a lot.
"Even though Paige is my best friend, she is one of the most annoying people ever. She's like a thousand siblings. Our friendship is very up and down, we fight a lot. With Paige, everything turns into a competition, it can be absolutely anything,” Fudd said in an ‘Overtime’ interview in 2019.
The duo has been friends for a long time, first encountering each other in a USA camp five years ago. They have been competitors, teammates and friends ever since. In the upcoming season, though, Bueckers would hope she can see more of her best friend on the court.
