Paige Bueckers' offseason took a glamorous turn as she stole the show at the ongoing 2024 New York Fashion Week. The talented Huskies guard dazzled on the red carpet in an all-white outfit in her debut appearance at the event hosted by popular brand "Who Decides War."
Before her debut appearance, Bueckers expressed her excitement to be a part of the event to Marie Claire magazine.
"I'm having a great time," said Bueckers. "It's my first Fashion Week, so I'm very excited to be here. It's all new to me.
"I'm learning stepping outside of my comfort zone, continue to find who I am in fashion, exploring my masculine side, my feminine side and just mixing both and just continue to get comfortable in my own skin and finding different ways to express myself."
Bueckers also met Olympic gold medalist Sunisa Lee at the event. They took photos together and celebrated their mutual connections to Minnesota.
Paige Bueckers balances glamourous experiences with 2024-25 preparations
Bueckers has had an eventful couple of weeks. Prior to her New York Fashion Week debut, she visited Flushing Meadows with her UConn teammate Azzi Fudd to watch American tennis sensations Frances Tiafoe and Coco Gauff go for glory at the US Open.
While she is enjoying the ongoing offseason, she has not slowed down in her preparations for the 2024-25 season, which could well be her last in NCAA women's basketball.
Bueckers, projected to be the top overall draft pick in next year's WNBA draft, was one of the top players in UConn's run to the Final Four this year. She averaged 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.4 blocks in the 2023-24 season. Her exploits earned her First-Team All-American honors and the Big East Player of the Year Award, among other accolades.
The 6'0" guard will look to end her college basketball career on a high and bring another NCAA Tournament title to the Storrs before heading for the major leagues.
