Kiki Iriafen, the standout forward who graduated from Stanford, has shared stunning photos on Instagram, celebrating her new chapter as a "Chocolate Cardinal." Donning a white off-shoulder dress, Iriafen’s graduation photos were filled with joy and elegance.
The former Stanford athlete captioned her post:
"Finale: Officially a Chocolate Cardinal👩🏾🎓🎉 Bachelors of Science in Engineering in Design."
Playing for the Stanford Cardinal in the past three years, Iriafen is transferring to join the USC women's basketball program. The 6-foot-3 forward recorded 19.4 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game last season, as the Cardinal advanced to the Sweet 16.
Iriafen will be joining forces with guard JuJu Watkins at USC. With one year of eligibility left, Iriafen will look to build upon her stellar exploits from last season.
USC coach lauds Kiki Iriafen after graduating from Stanford
USC Trojans coach Lindsay Gottlieb has high praise for Kiki Iriafen, who graduated from Stanford and entered the transfer portal. Iriafen, a forward long seen as a potential top pick for the 2025 WNBA draft, committed to joining the Trojans.
Coach Gottlieb expressed her admiration in an Instagram story, congratulating Iriafen on her Stanford graduation, writing:
"And she hoops a lil too. Congrats @kikiiriafen."
In a press release, Gottlieb said:
“Kiki is a next-level talent. She’s a dynamic scorer and rebounder who will flourish in our style and with those around her. She is a magnetic personality who gets to come home and be special.”
Stanford’s new coach, Kate Paye, was not amused over losing Iriafen.
“We are disappointed … but if that’s a choice that she feels like she has to make, we respect it,” Paye said. “She told me that she’s made the decision to enter the portal for personal, family reasons.”
Iriafen's addition to USC, along with Oregon State Beavers combo guard Talia Von Oelhoffen, bolsters an already strong Trojans lineup that will bid for the national championship.
