The USC hooper, JuJu Watkins, is ready to dominate in the upcoming season of women's college basketball. The 18-year-old is putting hard work on the court and training with former assistant coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, Phil Handy, and her newest teammate, Brooklyn Shamblin.
Handy uploaded a series of pictures on his Instagram account where Watkins and Shamblin were seen in action while he looked like he was guiding them.
JuJu Watkins and the Trojans had a successful season last year as they made their way to the Elite Eight game of the March Madness. Though the team lost against the UConn Huskies, the drive and power of the Trojans team members members have not died.
When she gave an interview on "NBA Unplugged," she said that the Elite Eight loss has only fired up her passion to be a better version of herself in the upcoming season.
JuJu Watkins earned praise from Jay Z after visiting Roc Nation
The USC Trojans star hooper visited the Roc Nation headquarters to share some jerseys and other merchandise items with the rapper's company. The visit was a fruitful one, as she not only met with Jay's siblings and friend, Emory Jones, but she also got the opportunity to earn praise from him.
She talked to him on FaceTime and said that she was left "speechless" after the interaction.
"You go hard," Jay Z told the Trojans star. "You got a tough game. You got game like a grown man."
Jay Z also told her that he would "absolutely" like to "pull up on her" basketball games.
JuJu Watkins has become a rising star in women's college basketball. The USC Trojans player is predicted to become the next big thing after the departure of former Iowa phenom, Caitlin Clark, who was selected number one overall by the Indiana Fever. in the 2024 WWNBA draft.
