Hanna Cavinder was in fine form as Miami Hurricanes women's basketball took down the Pittsburgh Panthers 62-56 on Sunday to improve to 9-1 overall this season. Before the game, Cavinder posted an Instagram story of herself taking a selfie while wearing her Hurricanes jersey in her hotel room.

"Game day," she captioned the post, along with a juice box emoji.

Known for sharing content on social media, the Cavinder sisters are successful influencers and NIL student-athletes, with a huge following across social media platforms.

Hanna and her twin Haley Cavinder are in their final season as Miami basketball players. Heading into their game against Pitt, Hanna had been averaging 8.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season while her sister, was at 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Hanna Cavinder and her twin Haley, were in action as the Miami Hurricanes took down Pittsburgh Panthers to continue their great run in the 2024-25 season. Haley led the Hurricanes, scoring a game-high 22 points and earning a team-high 11 rebounds. She also recorded five assists and tallied one steal.

Hanna scored eight points and recorded a game-high six assists. She also got five rebounds.

Miami was dominant from the start, particularly on defense, as it limited Pittsburgh to 2-15 shooting from the field in the first quarter. The Canes also extended their lead to 10 points in the second quarter and finished with a 32-22 lead at halftime.

However, Miami struggled early after the break and allowed the Panthers to close the gap to four points entering the final quarter. But the Canes rallied again and took control of the game to end with a victory in the ACC opener. The win also marked first-year Miami head coach Tricia Cullop’s first win in ACC competition.

Overall, Miami shot 40.7 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from behind the arc, and 75.0 percent at the free throw line. The Canes also recorded 16 assists on 24 made field goals.

Next, the Canes wrap up non-conference play at the Maui Classic as they face Nevada on Thursday. After that, they take on Oregon State on Friday before heading back home to face the No. 14 North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday, Dec 29.
