"Where Father Ed, the players and staff became family. Father Ed took us under his wing back in 2001 and the next 9 years was a time our family will hold in our hearts forever. Always so proud of this guy, where he came from, where he went and where he’s going💙," she wrote.

The rest of the photos captured the two-time national champion coach and his family posing proudly with school staff and other guests.

Dan Hurley gives team update ahead of UConn’s first exhibition

UConn will play its first scheduled exhibition game of the season on Oct. 14 against Dan Hurley's former team, Rhode Island, at Mohegan Sun Arena, Connecticut.

"We’re not going to look like we did the last time people saw us play ... We’re a work in progress right now and I think it’s exciting to get an opportunity to go out and play against somebody else," Hurley said. "I don’t even know who’s going to start [Monday] night at a couple spots here."

Despite losing key players like Donovan Clingan, Cam Spencer, and Stephon Castle to the NBA, Hurley remains optimistic about the team's potential even with a partial roster turnover.
