Shelomi Sanders, daughter of legendary coach Deion Sanders, has taken a step in her collegiate journey by transferring to Alabama A&M. Having previously played for Jackson State and the University of Colorado, Shelomi’s decision to move surprised many. Notably, her family has strong ties to Colorado athletics.

After months of curiosity surrounding her choice, Shelomi finally shed light on the reasons for her transfer. However, what caught fans' attention this time was her birthday post. Shelomi turned 21 and posted a series of pictures on Instagram.

Shelomi was seen wearing a black slip dress paired with a silver chain. The last snap was of two cakes, written 21 on a croquette theme.

Despite the challenges of moving on, Shelomi’s bond with her family remains strong. On her 21st birthday, her father took pride in her, celebrating her accomplishments with heartfelt messages.

“Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Blessed Blessed Blessed Blessed Blessed Birthday to my FAVORITE CHILD @shelomisanders ‘BOSSY’! I’m so proud of u babygirl & I pray for u consistently. Continue to walk with your head up and smile thru life knowing that God has u covered and Daddy got u as well. Soar Baby Soar. I got u a similar gift like the 1 u got me so Happy Blessed Peaceful Birthday. DABOO DABOO DABOO!” he wrote.

Deion shared a touching post on Instagram, highlighting their close relationship.

"It just wasn't good energy" Shelomi Sanders on her time with Jackson State

A redshirt season caused by injury limited her playing time to just 11 minutes. During an Instagram Live session in August, Shelomi spoke openly about the emotional toll of her experience.

"For me, I would say, yeah, last year during the beginning where I just came home sad every day," Shelomi revealed.

Reflecting on her time at Jackson State, Shelomi admitted that staying there might have driven her to quit basketball altogether.

“It just wasn't good energy, wasn't good vibes, wasn't enough being poured into me as a player... it was just bad. But I'm good now,” she added.

This discontent led Shelomi to enter the transfer portal in April. The move distanced her from her family, who remain deeply involved in Colorado’s athletic programs. At Alabama A&M, Shelomi has found an environment that resonates with her goals and values. She described the atmosphere as good vibes.
