The holiday break just ended and Hailey Van Lith and the TCU Horned Frogs are already back for practice. TCU’s Instagram shared a post featuring Van Lith practicing alongside Sedona Prince, Madison Conner, Knisha Godfrey, Una Jovanovic, Aahliyah Jackson and Natalie Mazurek.
The training session is a good sign for Horned Frog fans, as the team is rising in the AP ranks and currently stands at No. 11, one spot higher than their previous ranking.
After a week off for Christmas, TCU will face the Brown Bears at home on December 29 in their final non-conference game of the season. The matchup with Brown starts a three-game homestand. TCU will then host Colorado on January 1 and Cincinnati on January 4 as conference play resumes.
TCU hosts final December game
The Horned Frogs will play their final December game and second Holiday Hoops event against the Brown Bears. TCU enters the matchup with a strong 12-1 record, including a perfect 9-0 at home, while Brown stands at 6-6 with a 1-3 road record.
TCU has performed well in December, winning four of five games. Though they suffered a heavy 85-52 loss to No. 3 South Carolina, the Frogs secured dominant wins over Florida Atlantic (78-42), Louisiana Tech (92-41), Samford (103-64) and UCF (92-52).
Beyond the consistent efforts of Hailey Van Lith and Sedona Prince, senior guard Madison Conner has become a standout player.
After transferring from Arizona, Conner has shown remarkable progress, earning Big 12 Player of the Week and Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week honors. From December 16 to 22, she led the NCAA with 28.5 points per game while shooting 50% from 3-point range, delivering standout performances against Samford and UCF.
TCU aims for fourth consecutive win
After a 33-point loss to No. 3 South Carolina, TCU rebounded with dominant 39-plus point victories over Louisiana Tech, Samford and UCF.
Their December 21 win against UCF at Addition Financial Arena, which marked their first Big 12 game this season, solidified TCU as a conference frontrunner. Madison Conner, Sedona Prince and Hailey Van Lith combined for 60 points.
TCU excelled across the board, leading in rebounds (44-21), assists (22-7), blocks (8-2) and steals (5-4). They shot 53% from the field, hit 11 3-pointers, and converted 15 of 18 free throws.
