Iowa Hawkeyes star Lucy Olsen has posted an endearing picture of her ex-Villanova teammate Abby Jegede for her birthday on social media.

Abby, who currently plays for the Northeastern Huskies, marked her 22nd birthday and was celebrated by friends.

The Huskies star got a birthday shoutout from a former teammate Lucy, who shared a post on her Instagram story.

The post contained several pictures of some old memories of them together with a written caption, "Happy birthday Abby @abby.jeg." and a heart hand emoji.

Jegede receives birthday wishes

Not only has Jegede received heartwarming wishes from Olsen, she has also gotten many other messages from other close friends.

The Huskies star shared several posts on her Instagram story of the birthday wishes she received. One of the messages had a caption that said "Happy birthday @abby.jeg, thank you for your friendship, see you soon girly pop."

Another post had a caption that said, "Happy birthday to one of my absolute favorite people, miss you so so much abs, hope you have the best birthday, may God continue to bless you on this journey. I love you @abby.jeg."

Abby's birthday continued to be filled with love as she received more greetings, which she happily shared in her Instagram story, savoring every moment of her special day.

Lucy thriving at Iowa

Lucy and Abby both played together as teammates for Villanova University during the 2023-2024 season before later moving to different teams. Olsen made a move to Iowa, where she currently plays while Jegede joined Northeastern Huskies.

Upon moving to Iowa, Olsen has averaged 15.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 40.2 FG% per game this season.

Despite having good personal statistics, her team fell to a defeat against the Oregon Ducks on Sunday, losing 50-49, with just a point separating them.

They were only able to win just one of the four quarters (7-17, 15-15, 13-9, 15-8), losing the last two and having a tie in the second quarter.

The Guard could only produce four points, six rebounds and three assists for her team in the game, which has left them in 13th place on the Big Ten League table.

She will be looking to help the Hawkeyes bounce back from the defeat when they face the Washinton Huskies on Thursday.
