La La Anthony, Kiyan Anthony's mother and LeBron James' wife Savannah James support each other in their endeavors as seen on Wednesday when James attended La La's annual charity event.
La La Anthony hosted her 7th annual Winter Wonderland Charity event in the Bronx and the guest list included Savannah James and Kiyan Anthony. The event is aimed at giving around 400 children from the inner city an evening of fun-filled activities.
Anthony shared photos from the event on Saturday and captioned the post:
"Winter Wonderland 2024‼️❄️ so grateful to host such an amazing event full of fun and giving back to the community I love!! Couldn’t do it without all of our sponsors and all the people that volunteer to make this happen."
La La Anthony and Savannah James' sons are both high school seniors, with Kiyan Anthony attending Long Island Lutheran High School in New York and Bryce James in Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles. They are set to move to college next year.
While Kiyan Anthony will be attending Syracuse, Bryce James is yet undecided. He has received offers from Ohio State and Duquesne. James also went on unofficial recruiting visits to USC and Arizona.
La La Anthony's comments on Kiyan Anthony's college decision
With his decision to attend Syracuse, Kiyan Anthony follows in the footsteps of his father, Carmelo Anthony. While many assumed that the young guard would be keen on following his father's legacy, La La Anthony explained that there were absolutely no influences in Anthony's final decision.
"I think it’s important to say like Kiyan really made this decision," she said. "I mean, I’m sure everyone just assumes that Mel put the pressure on him or Mel told him he had to do this.”
"Mel just gave him input on all the schools. It wasn’t more on Syracuse, less… he just gave input, and we stepped back and allowed him to make a decision and told him whatever he decided, we would support. Contrary to what people probably think, there was zero pressure from his dad to go to Syracuse."
The Syracuse Orange last won their NCAA championship in 2003 with Carmelo Anthony at the front. With Kiyan set to join next season, fans will have similar high expectations for the young star. Anthony has promised to work hard with the coach and bring in the results.
