The LSU Tigers are now preparing for their 2024-25 season. On the other hand, senior point guard Last-Tear Poa has managed to keep fans talking with her social media presence. Known as a defensive stalwart, Poa was a reliable force for the Tigers last season, averaging a career-high 20 minutes per game and scoring 4.9 points per contest.

Poa has captured attention off the court, sharing stylish updates on Instagram. On Sunday, she posted photos in a chic metallic, bronze tube top paired with hoop earrings and a silver choker. The 5-foot-11 athlete rounded out the outfit with a pair of black glasses.

She captioned the post:

“Mastering peace.”

LSU's Last-Tear Poa's on-court gameplay

Last-Tear Poa’s style on social media is radiant. However, her absence from LSU’s recent exhibition game against Xavier raised questions among the media. Coach Kim Mulkey addressed the situation after the Tigers’ 114-53 win.

Mulkey said Poa was “taking care of business off the floor.” When pressed by reporters about the possibility of an extended absence or details on her situation, Mulkey stood firm and said:

“I’ve told you all I’m going to tell you.”

Last season, Poa only missed one game due to a concussion sustained during the SEC Tournament semifinal against Ole Miss. That injury caused her to sit out the SEC championship game against South Carolina.

Despite Poa's absence, the Tigers showcased a strong guard rotation against Xavier. It was largely due to Mulkey’s efforts in the transfer portal during the offseason. Miami transfer Shyeann Day-Wilson stepped into the point guard role in Poa’s place. She scored seven points and delivered four assists in her first appearance for LSU.

After an impressive 31-6 record last season, the LSU Tigers are set to enter the 2024-25 season ranked No. 7 in the nation. The team, carrying high expectations, will kick off its season on Monday, Nov. 4, with a home opener against Eastern Kentucky at Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

This season, Mulkey has options at the guard position, which may mitigate the impact of Last-Tear Poa's absence. As the season unfolds, LSU supporters are eager to see Poa back in action.
