South Carolina women's basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley took a fond look back at 2024 as she shared some behind-the-scenes moments of the year on Instagram on Wednesday. The post includes photos of herself and her girlfriend, fellow South Carolina athlete JaMeesia Ford and Halle Bailey.

"2024 BTS 😁💫," she captioned the post.

Fulwiley and Ford are known as a power couple for South Carolina Gamecocks athletics. They have often been pictured together, since going public with their relationship on TikTok.

Fulwiley was named the female Freshmen of the Year during the 2024 South Carolina gala. Meanwhile, Ford is a track and field athlete. She won the 200 meters and 4x400 at the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships.

MiLaysia Fulwiley reveals why she chose to join Dawn Staley's South Carolina

South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley was the No. 13 recruit of the 2023 class, coveted by many colleges. However, the Columbia, South Carolina, native chose Dawn Staley's South Carolina, and she talked about why in a video posted on X by the South Carolina women's basketball account on Monday.

"Most schools ... was scared to offer and talk to me, because 'she's going to South Carolina,'" Fulwiley said. "This is the No. 1 school. I'm from here. I live here. Why would I go somewhere else?"

Fulwiley, who is now in her sophomore year, also credited Staley for influencing her decision to join the Gamecocks.

"I really enjoyed all of my (recruiting visits), but Dawn, she wasn't giving me any false narratives, saying, 'Oh, yeah, you're going to do this; you're doing to do that,'" Fulwiley said. "Nah, she was going to say, 'We have what you need here. If you want to go to the WNBA, we have all the tools if you just work hard, and I see you being a generational player.
"She told me she believed in me, and I felt safe when talking to her, it felt like home."

Fulwiley enjoyed her freshman season and was expected to continue the momentum into her sophomore year. However, the 19-year-old has been inconsistent this season, mostly due to limited playing time. She is averaging 10.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 41.6% shooting.

Fulwiley posted 11 points, two rebounds and five assists in 18 minutes to lead the second-ranked Gamecocks to a 93-43 win over Wofford on Sunday.
