The USC Trojans and Eric Musselman welcomed MrBeast to the Galen Center on Friday. The $1 billion worth (per Celebrity Net Worth) YouTuber was promoting his new game show, Beast Games, and was photographed taking a few shots on the court. The Trojans shared the images on Instagram with the caption:
"@mrbeast got some shots up at 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝙇𝘼𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘. 🤩 stream his new show, Beast Games, on @primevideo 👀✌️"
The new game show is based on the popular Netflix series, Squid Games, in which contestants from different ages participate in survival games for huge prize money. Beast Games includes 1,000 contestants fighting it out for a prize of $5 million.
Eric Musselman's first season at USC is off to a shaky start
The USC Trojans endured a tough run last season, finishing with a 15-18 record. With Andy Enfield leaving the team, the Trojans hired Eric Musselman. The Trojans are off to a slightly better start this season as they have an 8-4 record.
With a roster built completely from the transfer portal, Musselman and his coaching staff are still trying to come up with the best strategies. When talking about the changes required, he said, via On3:
“You know, like, I think it’s our job to try to win every possession. Defensively, you want perfection. Offensively, you want perfection.
“You know, a couple guys defensively, you know, have got to improve or I can’t keep playing them the minutes that I have. You know, some of it might be a surprise down the road. But we need some guys to guard better too.”
Eric Musselman is already making plans for these changes as he sought the help from the NBA.
“Quite frankly, we called a bunch of NBA teams too and just asked them for different defensive drills. And I thought that helped us because they were completely new and different from what our guys have seen,” Eric Musselman said, via Sports Illustrated.
“All the coaches reached out, I reached out, and some teams sent us some film of some of the stuff that they’ve done in practice.”
The USC Trojans will play their last game before break on Sunday against the Southern Jaguars at the Galen Center. They are coming off a 90-69 win over the Cal State Northridge Matadors, where they had their most efficient performance from the 3-point range (63.2%).
