Hoops analyst believes Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey can be spoilers
Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey are emerging as potential game-changers in the Big Ten, even as Rutgers finds itself struggling to stay in NCAA tournament contention. Speaking on the "Field of 68: After Dark" podcast, Mike Latulip highlighted how the duo’s talent and impact could disrupt the postseason ambitions of other Big Ten teams.
“Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey have a real chance to play major metric spoiler for Big Ten teams down the stretch,” Latulip said. “I mean, think about those two dudes on the floor. Rutgers will likely be out of contention for the NCAA tournament.”
Despite a season marked by inconsistency, Rutgers has remained competitive thanks to the standout performances of Harper and Bailey. Both players have made life difficult for even the best programs in the conference.
Latulip emphasized the importance of their ability to step up in high-stakes games, potentially turning Rutgers into a dangerous program for Big Ten title contenders.
“I hope they figure it out and turn things around,” Latulip said. “But that team playing spoiler is significant. When you have players like Harper and Bailey going up against really good teams in the Big Ten, it’s a scary thought for teams with Big Ten title hopes.”
While Rutgers (11th in Big Ten) may be out of the running for an NCAA tournament berth, they could play spoilsport.
