Caitlin Clark's former Iowa teammates, Jada Gyamfi and Gabbie Marshall joined others to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Gyamfi posted a photo she took with Clark during the Indiana Fever star's time with the team on her Instagram story with the caption:
"Cheers to 23! I love you kid."
Marshall also posted a photo collage showing great moments she shared with Clark.
"Happy 23 CC! Love you," she captioned the photos.
The trio of Clark, Marshall and Gyamfi formed a close friendship during their time with the Hawkeyes. Clark has since gone pro with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA while Marshall retired to pursue her master's degree in North Carolina. Gyamfi is currently a senior in Iowa, where she averages 2.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists on 71.4 percent shooting per game this season.
Caitlin Clark trolls Jada Gyamfi over former Iowa teammate's Instagram post
Caitlin Clark is an "annoying" big sister to Jada Gyamfi in the Iowa senior's recent post on Instagram. Gyamfi posted several photos of herself having a fun day in Seattle on Wednesday.
"RIP Derek Shepard, you would’ve loved me," she captioned the post.
Gyamfi's post referenced the hit show 'Grey's Anatomy,' which was based in Seattle. Derek Shepherd, nicknamed Dr. McDreamy, was a character portrayed by Patrick Dempsey, and the love interest of main character Meredith Grey.
Clark trolled her former Iowa teammate in the comments.
"More ball, less photoshoots and Ferris wheel rides 💯😀," to which Gyamfi replied, "you’re literally so annoying."
Clark is enjoying the offseason after winning the Rookie of the Year in her debut WNBA season. The women's basketball superstar will be returning to Iowa for the retirement of her jersey in February, and also expected to reunite with her besties Gyamfi and Gabbie Marshall.
Gyamfi, who is currently in Seattle with the rest of Iowa team, is expected to be in action as the Hawkeyes take on hosts, the Washington Huskies, on Thursday, Jan. 23.
