Iowa's Jada Gyamfi hypes up former Hawkeyes star Kate Martin's latest look: "Baby girl, beauty queen"

It was an Iowa Hawkeyes-flavored night at the T-Mobile Arena when Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin and former teammates Caitlin Clark and Megan Gustafson signed memorabilia for a Make-A-Wish Foundation fans before their teams clashed.

Off the court, Martin was hyped up by her close friend and former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Jada Gyamfi on her Instagram stories, captioning a picture of her gameday outfit posted by the Las Vegas Aces:

"Baby girl, beauty queen, my princess," Gyamfi wrote.

Kate Martin versus Caitlin Clark Round 2 ends on a positive note

Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark have shown the strength of their friendship over the years as they led the Iowa Hawkeyes to new heights and both got drafted into the WNBA in April.

The two friends can't seem to stop fueling the Iowa atmosphere in the WNBA. In the latest meeting, Martin, who rocked Hawkeyes gear in her pre-game news conference, was on the winning side once again, 88-69.

The clash held at the T-Mobile Arena managed to attract a record 20,366 fans, the highest regular-season attendance in the arena in 25 years.

Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark managed to put on-court rivalries aside and made an Iowa fan happy. Fourteen-year-old Bailey Lux, who suffers from malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST), managed to meet her Hawkeyes stars due to the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The pair met the Hawkeyes fan in 2022 when she was first diagnosed with the disease.

Clark and Martin led the efforts for their teams to sign an WNBA ball and other memorabilia for Lux before the game tipped off, showing the famous Iowa Hawkeyes spirit they have become renowned for.

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Kraig Bailey, the girl's father revealed the role that the charismatic Martin had played in making his daughter's dreams come true.

“Kate (Martin) had been reaching out,” Kraig Bailey said. “I think she probably had something to do with the back side of things. She had reached out on Friday and sent me a message saying she wanted to fly us out to the game. I don’t know how much she had to deal with, I know it was difficult to get this done so quickly … but this is spirit-lifting.”

Kate Martin registered one rebound against Caitlin Clark's 13 points, six rebounds and 11 assists to close out their second eventful matchup in the professional league.
