Jada Gymfi, a bench player for the Iowa Hawkeyes, appeared on the "Talking' Hawks with The VandeBergs" podcast and talked about her close ties with Caitlin Clark, Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin. All three players have since left Iowa, with Martin and Clark making impacts in the WNBA, while Marshall pursues a Master's in Occupational Therapy at the University of North Carolina.

When asked how Gyamfi created relationships with the players as a freshman, she said:

"I leaned on them a lot which I think helped them trust me because I was like, 'Hey, I'm going through this and you have been through this.' Like Kate was a big factor for me in my freshman year because her freshman year, she also dealt with injury. So, I was able to confide in her a lot."

Gyamfi was referring to the injuries she sustained in her first year at Iowa, including a concussion during a fall practice session and an ankle injury. Kate Martin missed a season with a torn ACL and suffered breaks on her nose, twice.

Further talking about her relationships with Clark and Marshall, she said:

"Caitlin was an easy one cause we could sit and laugh for hours. She's really funny. I'm really funny and I knew her kind of coming into this.
"Gabbie's like we have the same exact personality. It all just kind of meshed really well. And then, my freshman year, we got super close and then over the summer coming back and throughout this year, like it really fused into some really strong friendships. Now, I'm like, 'why did I pick three seniors to be best friends with?'"

Caitlin Clark urged Jada Gyamfi to bring her on new podcast as a guest

Jada Gymfi announced on Instagram that she will be collaborating with Estela's Fresh Mex to launch her newest podcast show called "Fresh Tawk." The show will release new episodes every Tuesday and will be available on YouTube, Apple Podcast, Spotify and other podcast streaming platforms.

Caitlin Clark and her boyfriend Connor McCaffrey, excited about their friend's new project, commented on the post, with Clark asking Jada if she could appear on the show.

"Get me on the show, Love the cereal in back," wrote Caitlin Clark.
"Episode together with [Caitlin Clark]? Need a guest?" wrote Connor McCaffrey.

Gyamfi played twenty games last season and averaged 4.0 minutes of game time with 1.4 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.2 assists. She, along with other Hawkeyes players, is preparing for the upcoming women's college basketball season.

With the addition of Lucy Olsen, a potential replacement for Clark, the team aims to replicate the kind of success they had in the past few years.
