Iowa fifth-year star Kylie Feuerbach will return to college and play for the Hawkeyes squad this upcoming season. After the departure of star hoopers Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall, the team is left with players who will have a lot of playing time this season and Feuerbach is one of the players who will have bigger shoes to fill.

Last year, Kylie averaged 14 minutes per game and is looking to get more time with the ball on the court. This is why she has been using her time to train and perfect selective parts of her playing style.

Kylie Feuerbach said, as per Sports Illustrated:

“I definitely want to do a lot more on the floor,” she said. “I want to be scoring more, but right now I’m focused on the nit-picky things this summer. I can improve my game in a lot of different areas, especially offensively. I’m getting my shots up, but there are some little things on that side of the floor that I can be working on.”

Feuerbach averaged just 2.6 points and shot 31% from the field last season, her lowest numbers in three college basketball seasons.

What did Jan Jensen say about Kylie Feuerbach's progress on the team?

The newly appointed head coach has been monitoring Feuerbach's game and thinks that she has shown tremendous progress.

“Kylie needs a few more shots within a game,” Jensen said. “When you have Caitlin, you’re kind of setting everybody else up and waiting for her to launch. Now you’re going to see more shots from others. So I think you’re going to see Kylie be a lot more consistent.”

Meanwhile, assistant coach Abby Stamp has noted Feuerbach's growth on the offensive end.

“Kylie has been finishing around the rim very well. She’s been making good reads, good decisions,” Stamp said. “She’s starting to really put together our offense.”

As per Kylie Feuerbach, she is focusing on improving her shooting percentage from behind the arc as well as handling the ball in a better way. She also explained her shortcomings and hopes to be the biggest defensive presence for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
