Alex Karaban has a healthy status going into Wednesday's matchup against the DePaul Blue Demons. He has no injuries listed, having suited up in the last four contests for No. 11 UConn. The confirmation of his playing in the game will be known before the 2 p.m. ET tip-off.

Karaban is in the middle of the third season of his collegiate career. He was a full-time starter from the beginning, as he played a key role in the Huskies' back-to-back national championship victories.

Alex Karaban's impact on UConn this season

Seeing his production grow in his first two years, Alex Karaban has only continued to take the next steps in his game for UConn.

After 11 games, he averages 16.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest. He is shooting 47.6% from the field, including 42.1% from beyond the arc.

It marks a career season for the junior forward, who has embraced a bigger role in the Huskies' offense following key departures in the offseason. He has reached the 20-point mark five times, with the highest being his 21-point outings against Dayton on Nov. 27, Texas on Dec. 8 and most recently, Butler on Dec. 21.

He has helped UConn finish 2024 with a 10-3 record, having it on an active winning streak of six games following a three-game skid. The Huskies are putting up 83.9 points on 49.4% shooting overall and 36% from downtown, beating opponents by a convincing margin of 16.5 points.

Their emphasis on ball movement and getting stops on defense is worthy to note. They create 19.8 assists per game in contrast to just 9.5 from opposing teams and put together 12.7 stocks (steals and blocks) on the defensive side of the ball, showing how potent they can be when they aren't sustaining losses.

They take on a DePaul squad with a 9-4 record entering this matchup. The Blue Demons have an offense that produces 80.1 points on shooting splits of 46.2% overall and 38.9% from 3, with Jacob Meyer standing out as their leading scorer with 14.5 points per contest with a 3-point shooting accuracy of 43.2%.

After this game, Alex Karaban and the No. 11 Huskies will return home as they next host Providence at the Harry Gampel Pavilion on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
